Who we are
Big Four Conquest is a free game made by Richard Dagami, based in Cork, Ireland. Richard is the data controller. Contact: [email protected].
What we keep, and why
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Google Play Games player ID and nickname (from Google when you sign in) | To know which account is yours, so your careers load on any phone | Until your account is deleted |
| Your characters: name, looks, firm, level, gear, gold, career progress, settings | To run the game and keep your progress safe | Until you delete the character or your account |
| Purchases: which Wardrobe items you own, donations given, and Google Play's purchase token and order number | So what you bought works on any phone, and to check purchases with Google | Until your account is deleted (Google keeps its own payment records) |
| Reports you send or that are made about you: the names involved, the reason, and the reported player's last few chat messages | To deal with abuse, harassment and cheating | 12 months after the report is handled |
| Security log: sign-ins, character changes, failed sign-ins with the network (IP) address | To protect accounts and keep the game fair (anti-cheat) | IP addresses at most 30 days; other entries until the account is deleted |
The legal basis is our agreement with you to provide the game (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in keeping accounts secure and play fair (Article 6(1)(f)). The game never asks for your real name, email, location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
Where it is kept, and who helps us
- Hetzner Online (Germany) hosts our server and database in the EU.
- Cloudflare passes traffic to our server and protects it from attacks; it sees your IP address while doing so.
- Google provides Google Play Games sign-in and Google Play Billing for purchases, under Google's own privacy policy. We never receive your card or bank details.
These providers act on our behalf and may not use your data for anything else. We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
Playing with other people
When you're online, your game connects to our server, which passes your character's name, looks, firm, level, position, health, emotes and chat messages to the other players on your map, in your party or in your duel. The server doesn't store any of this, apart from the security log. Duels are worked out on our server from your stored character; nothing is kept afterwards. Other players see your character's name, looks, firm, level, position and chat messages. Chat is filtered automatically: offensive words are hidden, and links, email addresses and phone numbers are removed. You can switch chat off, block a player, or report them in Settings > Chat & safety. We don't store chat, except the last few messages of a player who is reported, which are sent with the report. Don't share personal information in chat.
Purchases
The game is free. Optional donations and cosmetic items are bought through Google Play Billing; Google handles payment and refunds. We record which items your account owns so they work on every phone.
Deleting your account
In the game: Settings > Account > Delete my account. Your account is kept for 14 days in case you change your mind (sign in to cancel), then your account, characters and purchase records are erased. Backups are overwritten within 30 days. You can also ask on our account deletion page or by email.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to move it, or object to how we use it: email [email protected] and we'll answer within a month. If you're unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
Permissions
On Android the game uses the Internet and network state permissions to reach our server and Google Play, and the Google Play Billing permission for the optional purchases.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly hold data about them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change what we keep, we'll update this page before the version that does so is released, and say what changed.
Big Four Conquest is a work of fiction. The firms, clients, people and cases in it are invented; any resemblance to real organisations or people is coincidental. Home · Terms of Service
